SoliDDD Corp., the company that makes Truly Lifelike 3D, will show and discuss its patent-pending single-camera/single lens Stereo Lens Adapter, which allows DPs to use any PL mount lens/camera combination to shoot 3D.

The company will also show its 3D autostereo poster technology, which provides more depth than anything else available on the market.

By using the fundamental equations of physics and optics, together with advanced optical design methods, SoliDDD is able to deliver a realistic 3D image unlike anything ever seen before.

A quick review of the history of attempts at shooting 3D motion pictures with a single camera, including the designs of Mortimer Marks, Chris Condon, and Arrivision, and some thoughts as to why this historic chain of innovation ended a few years ago, led SoliDDD Corp. to resurrect the concept of a single camera 3D system.

Using precision optical-design capabilities and components which were unavailable decades ago, and which have not been used for two-camera rigs, we were able to achieve a single camera system that allows directors of photography to work with their favorite lenses (both primes and zooms), achieve far more consistently precise alignment of left and right images than can be achieved with any other 3D capture method, use interocular settings anywhere from zero to 65mm, use film or video for recording, and be far lighter in weight and more stable than any two-camera rig.
