About Us

SoliDDD is a 3D technology company that makes truly lifelike 3D.

By using the fundamental equations of physics and optics, together with advanced optical design methods, SoliDDD is able to deliver a realistic 3D image unlike anything ever seen before. We recently introduced the world's first truly lifelike still image autostereo, with vastly greater depth and larger viewing areas than has ever before been achievable, for all types of photographic signage. Forthcoming is this same groundbreaking technology for motion video on both LED and LCD displays.

For 3D acquisition, SoliDDD will soon introduce its single-camera/single lens 3D capture system. This fits over standard PL-mount lenses and offers numerous benefits versus today's two-camera rigs: vastly smaller and lighter weight, adjustable interocular from 0-65mm, perfectly aligned left and right eyes even while zooming, greater control of focus in 3D, etc.

The SoliDDD team includes world-class expertise in physics and optics as well as proven technical capabilities; a successful track record of invention and innovation; and extensive experience and market expertise in the film, broadcast, professional audio-visual, and display industries. Together, these skills allow SoliDDD to set the standard for truly lifelike 3D... without the glasses.

Dr. Richard Muller, Chief Technology Officer, is a renowned physicist, optics expert, and inventor. He invented accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS), which is now the primary method used for radio carbon dating around the world. He was also involved in the very early stages of adaptive optics and discovered and proved the image sharpness theorem. His experience includes nuclear physics, advanced work with lasers, and elementary particle symmetries. Dr. Muller worked under Nobel laureate Luis Alvarez, and is a MacArthur Foundation Fellow and a National Science Foundation award-winner. He was a long-time member of the JASON Defense Advisory Group, doing consulting for the US Department of Defense. He is also a Professor of Physics at UC Berkeley (where he was awarded the Distinguished Teaching award), and a researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
